This lecture deals with issues using the example of current applications such as electromobility or the smart phone. The principle of the battery is presented in detail. After successful completion of the module, the participants will have a basic knowledge of the functioning and system technology of battery storage systems. Aspects such as interconnection topologies, heat transfer and the methodology for modeling and describing battery storage systems are taught. This includes lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) batteries as well as lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries and novel cobalt-free batteries (NMX).
